Lightbeam clients average 1.7 times the shared savings when compared to non-Lightbeam ACOs
IRVING, TX – September 18, 2018 – Lightbeam Health Solutions, the leader in end-to-end population health management solutions and services, announced that accountable care organizations (ACOs) using Lightbeam have generated more than $470 million in savings over the last four performance years. In the most recent year, over $158 million was generated by Lightbeam clients. The average amount of savings achieved was $3.7 million, which is 1.7 times the savings generated by the average nonLightbeam ACO. Lightbeam clients also represented a full 47% of all Track 3 ACO savings and recorded overall higher quality scores.
“The recently proposed rule changes to the MSSP by CMS would cause more than 400 ACOs to be forced to either move from a shared savings to shared risk model, or leave the program,” said Pat Cline, CEO of Lightbeam Health. “As the shared savings program continues to evolve, so do the needs of our clients. Seeing our clients continue to succeed and deliver significant amounts of shared savings year after year is motivating. As provider enterprises take on more risk, a platform like Lightbeam becomes even more critical.”
Lightbeam Health Solutions is providing a free webinar featuring best practices and proven strategies for succeeding with downside risk. The webinar is scheduled for 12pm CDT on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
Established through the Affordable Care Act, the MSSP facilitates coordination and cooperation among providers that form ACOs to improve the quality of care and reduce unnecessary costs, benefiting more than 9 million patients. A total of 472 ACOs participated in the 2017 MSSP program, generating more than $1.1 billion in total savings.
