Rio Grande Valley Health Alliance and Lakewood Health System Select Lightbeam Health Solutions for Population Health Management

Addition of new healthcare organizations extends Lightbeam Health Solutions’ client list to more than 40 accountable care organizations

IRVING, Texas – December 3, 2014 – Lightbeam Health Solutions, a leader in end-to-end population health management, announced today agreements with two new healthcare organizations, Rio Grande Valley Health Alliance, LLC and Lakewood Health System. More than 40 accountable care organizations (ACOs) now utilize the Lightbeam platform.

Based in McAllen, Texas, Rio Grande Valley Health Alliance, LLC (RGVHA) is a 14-provider ACO focused on delivering high-quality care and lower growth in healthcare expenditures. RGVHA will be utilizing the following components of Lightbeam solutions:

  • Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Risk Stratification
  • Provider Engagement
  • Quality Measure analytics
  • Cost / Utilization analytics

“In order to replicate and build upon such a successful year, it was vital for our organization to move from a manual process to an automated population health management system,” said Kenneth Oates, program administrator at RGVHA. “With Lightbeam, we are able to empower our engaged group of physicians with technology and data that enables them to take better control of their outcomes.”

Founded in 1936, Lakewood Health System is an independent rural healthcare system in Minnesota with a hospital and clinic in Staples, primary care clinics in Browerville, Eagle Bend, Motley and Pillager, and a dermatology clinic and skin and laser center in Sartell. The health system is currently working with Lightbeam to implement the following components of Lightbeam solutions:

  • Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Risk Stratification
  • Provider Engagement
  • Quality Measure analytics
  • Cost / Utilization analytics
  • Care Management

“Improvement in population health starts with data,” said Stephanie Jeziorski, Lakewood Clinic Director of Quality Improvement. “By obtaining a data warehouse, we will be able to gain insight throughout the Lakewood system of where we can enhance the quality and efficiency of care being delivered. We will be able to analyze data in regards to clinic and financial operations through timely reports, and share them to create awareness and encourage engagement in process improvements and needed enhancements.”

Lightbeam provides a single vendor platform that facilitates end-to-end population management. The comprehensive tool set supports ACOs, payers, large provider groups, health systems and other healthcare organizations who aspire to provide superior care to their patients at a lower cost.

“We’re honored to be working with both Rio Grande and Lakewood and look forward to the chance to enable their physicians to provide the highest quality care at the right time,” said Jerry Shultz, President of Lightbeam Health Solutions. “As our company continues to grow, our solution’s ability to be tailored to each organization’s needs will continue to be a priority. We are excited about the opportunity to work with each organization to provide the guidance critical in driving population health management, ultimately lowering the cost of care.”
