Presbyterian Medical Services Selects Lightbeam Health Solutions to Improve Patient Outcomes, Reduce Costs

IRVING, Texas – November 12, 2014 – Lightbeam Health Solutions, a leader in end-toend population health management, announced today that Presbyterian Medical Services has selected Lightbeam’s comprehensive platform, including solutions for integrated analytics, risk stratification, care coordination, and provider and member engagement.

Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS), an organization serving more than 60,000 patients each year through primary care, outpatient, dental and behavioral health services, manages approximately 45 federally qualified health centers throughout New Mexico.

“Lightbeam’s unique ability to create a data warehouse, and, in essence, facilitate internal health information exchange, makes the solution stand out among competitors,” said Doug Smith, Executive Vice President of Presbyterian Medical Services. “We’re looking forward to leveraging Lightbeam’s strengths to create partnerships with healthcare institutions, other network providers and plans to improve outcomes and ultimately reduce healthcare costs.”

By effectively unifying claims and clinical data, Lightbeam aims to revolutionize the way healthcare organizations manage care and ultimately drive the ability to dramatically lower the cost healthcare.

“We’re especially honored to be working with Presbyterian Medical Services, an organization doing remarkable things throughout New Mexico,” said Jerry Shultz, President of Lightbeam Health Solutions. “When we developed our solution, we had organizations like PMS in mind – organizations dedicated to ensuring their patients receive the right care at the right time. We look forward to a bright, healthy future partnering with PMS.”

About Presbyterian Medical Services
Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) provides primary care, dental, behavioral health, childhood education, home care, hospice and senior programs throughout New Mexico. To make the greatest impact, we concentrate our resources on meeting the needs of the most underserved areas.

At PMS, we believe that the best way to improve community health and well-being is to work collaboratively with community groups, school districts, local providers, hospitals and governments at every level. Together, we develop programs and services that meet the needs of the people living within these communities. In addition, we only expand into areas that invite our involvement.

PMS is the successor to the United Presbyterian Church's Medical Mission work in the Southwest, which began in 1901. In 1969, a New Mexico based 501C (3) nonprofit corporation was formed to ensure continuation of the mission to provide health care services to underserved communities. We have continued and expanded on this proud tradition with almost 1,200 employees now serving in approximately 100 programs throughout the state.
